Footage of the alleged animal cruelty and alleged bestiality in the Midland Bacon plant at Carag Carag in Victoria, 180kilometres north of Melbourne, was shown on ABC's 7.30 show on Monday night.

The program also revealed the Victorian police charged a man with bestiality last week and he will appear in court in June.

The allegations and images have come on the eve of an inquiry in state parliament into the welfare of farmed pigs.

In a statement issued to the ABC, Midland Bacon said it is 'committed to humane processing practices'.

On the bestiality allegations, it said 'We are unable to comment on the police charge as this matter is now before the courts.'

Daily Mail Australia attempted to contact Midland Bacon for comment, but its listed phone number is no longer connected.
