Jerry Ford Real Estate has a new location. The new office is at 201 South Front Street in downtown Ellisville.
“We are very happy to be in downtown,” Ford said during a grand opening Friday.
This is the fifth year for the company, but Ford has been a Realtor in Ellisville for 13 years. He said business is growing and he and his associates — Angie Griffin, Terri Sue Stroud, Joanna Martin, Rocky Purvis and Brooks Taylor — needed a bigger building. The new office space was originally a law office built by Circuit Court Judge Billy Joe Landrum many years ago.
“It’s been abandoned about 15 years now,” Ford said. “We came in and the ceilings were down and the floor was bad. We’ve done a lot of work so far, but it’s still a work in progress.”
Jones County Economic Development Authority Executive Director Larkin Simpson said the Chamber of Commerce was there to support the business and he loves to see downtown businesses grow.
“A lot of small towns like Ellisville are dying,” Mayor Tim Waldrup said.
“But Ellisville is growing and thriving, and now this new building and new office is a great addition to our downtown.”
