Kate Middleton recently made an appearance at the 2023 Wimbledon alongside tennis star Roger Federer. However, the Princess of Wales’ public outing has raised questions about whether or not she would start bringing her daughter Princess Charlotte to these events now.
Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, looked stunning in her mint-green Balmain blazer and white pleated skirt. She was in a Royal box with Tennis legend Roger Federer and his wife, Mirka. However, Kate’s appearance at the All England Lawn Tennis and Cro sans any other royal family member has led an expert to wonder about her kids. The expert questions if the Prince and Princess of Wales will start including their second-born Princess Charlotte in her public outings more often. The expert also opines that if they happen to sideline Charlotte, there could be a “serious problem brewing” for the royals.

Expert predicts “heir versus spare” issue among Kate and Williams’ kids
News.com.au’s royal correspondent, Daniela Elser, noted in her recent write-up how the Prince and Princess of Wales have taken their firstborn son Prince George to many sporting events over the last few years.
On July 1 this year, Prince George was spotted at Lord’s Stadium with his dad Prince William. The duo watched the cricket match between Australia and England. The expert further notes that only George is seen at these events most of the time. The royal correspondent further notes how Princess Charlotte has not made many such appearances lately, despite turning 8. Elser writes, by the age of eight, “George was flying the flag for Great Britain at his first major national sporting matches.”
Elser further says there could be a “serious problem brewing” for the royals if Charlotte does not make any major public appearance in the upcoming weeks. She further says that if Prince George made a Wimbledon appearance in the coming week and Princess Charlotte did not, this could start a “horrible replay of heir versus spare” among Kate and Williams’ kids.

How Kate and William’s ‘misstep’ could spark ‘crisis’ in the new generation
Elser draws parallels between what transpired between Prince William and Prince Harry versus what could happen between Kate and William’s kids if the parents let ‘inequality take hold’ among their kids.
“If the Waleses fall into the same trap as King Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, then several decades from now, we will have to watch Prince Louis malign older brother Prince George from his new home on the Mars colony,” the expert opines.
The House of Windsor needs a “long spell of unity” if they are to make it to the 22nd century, the expert writes. “For the monarchy to work as an institution, the Windsors need to work as a family first.” Elser opines this is why it is important to see Princess Charlotte in the Royal Box at Wimbledon in the coming weeks.
“I’m sure hours and days of careful instruction about the business of Kinging will be needed, but why not make all three of them undergo the training together? (It would get all of them out of Kate’s hair in one fell swoop if nothing else),” the royal correspondent said, sharing her opinion.
As per the expert, the public needs to see “definitive proof” that if Prince George got treated to such outings at Princess Charlotte’s current age then she would be too.
A look at Princess Charlotte’s last public appearance
Princess Charlotte’s last public appearance was on June 17 during the trooping of the colour ceremony. The young princess was pictured riding in a chariot with her siblings Prince George and Louis as well as standing on Buckingham Palace’s balcony with her family.
The Princess wore a white dress with a red colored bow on it with red linings.
Trooping of the Colour is a ceremonial event performed every year in London, United Kingdom, to celebrate the official birthday of the British monarch, which is currently King Charles.
