Noel Gallagher is turning fashion designer and helping to produce a shirt for his beloved Manchester City.

We can reveal Noel has agreed to collaborate with his favourite football team and their shirt sponsors Puma. It’s understood City are planning to release a limited edition fourth shirt next season that will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of when Oasis released their album Definitely Maybe.

A Gallagher family source said: “It’s been in the works for a couple of months and Noel was absolutely chuffed to be asked - he’s watched City since the 1970s and the final design is almost there.

“Noel once had a pop at Liam when he started his clothing line, Pretty Green, but this is entirely different. Both are mad City fans but it is Noel who was asked.

“He was asked to help with how the shirt will eventually look and it will be a bit of a collectors’ item, plus one in the eye of Liam, who is also City daft.”

Noel has become mates with City boss Pep Guardiola in recent years and the Catalan has previously sent his Oasis chum a video of him sitting ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’.

The news comes as Ruben Dias admits Manchester City relish being the team everyone else loves to hate.

Pep Guardiola's billionaire side have become the dominant force in English football after winning a Treble last season. The reigning champions could repeat the feat this season, not to mention land a historic fourth league title on the spin.

But all the success has come against the backdrop of suspicion that the Abu Dhabi-owned club have broken financial spending rules. City are facing 115 charges of breaching the Premier League's FFP rules - and are expected to face an independent hearing in the autumn.

It has led rival clubs and supporters to become envious of City's success - and desperate to see them punished. But Dias admits the jealousy shown towards City is making them even more hell-bent on winning more trophies.
