Ever since Sofia Richie Grainge took to TikTok to share behind-the-scenes fashion and beauty videos during her wedding weekend, the internet has cemented her as the newest It Girl, apropos of her chic style and achievable beauty routine. We’ve covered her makeup and skincare, but what about her hair products?
On TikTok, Grainge has taken fans inside her luxe bathroom for a tutorial to create her sleek and iconic bun. The video has millions of likes and has us ditching our sticky hairsprays immediately. “I really love you guys for thinking this is like my chic hairstyle,” Grainge says, adding, “This is actually my lazy girl hairstyle.”
Grainge begins by brushing through her locks and spraying UNITE Hair’s 7Seconds Detangler generously throughout her wet hair. She then emphasizes the importance of achieving a strong center part while using a fine rat tail comb to separate her hair into a straight middle section.

Rather than messy gels and stiff hairsprays to enhance the slick, she prefers nourishing products to create a sleek look. A nourishing mask, lightweight lotion, and repairing oil all possess the ability to keep the updo in place while minimizing any damage.
“I need an oil and an Oribe lotion,” she explains, but most importantly she credits her “luscious” hair health to her replacement of gel with a regenerating mask. Grainge spreads the Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask with Prickly Pear Oil throughout her hair from roots to ends.

She then takes her thin comb to separate off a front section of hair on each side up until the ear and keeps them in place with Emi Jay clips while she works on the back of her head.

The next step involves spreading the Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion throughout her hair, including the nape of her neck. Once Grainge works the mask and lotion into her hair, she uses a Mason Pearson Brush to select where she wants her updo to sit.
Lucky for those of us who struggle with removing all the bumps from the top of our head (and get subsequent hand cramps from doing so), Grainge says, “The top is not the most important, it’s getting the back [underneath] part sealed down to your head.”

Once she ties the main section back into a ponytail, she continues with the Mason Pearson brush to the reserved front sections of her hair. She unclips one side and brushes the smaller section against her scalp to conjoin it with the existing (and not to mention, perfect) ponytail she created. As she smoothes the sides out, she uses a second tie to join the front section with the large back portion and repeats the same technique with the remaining front piece.

The ponytail is birthed from a flawless amalgamation of the two front sections, and she spirals her lengths into a bun, securing it into place with a thick ponytail.
The final touch involves using the Oribe lotion and UNITE Hair’s Blonda Oil to seal any remaining hairs and pesky flyaways, creating a full sleek effect.

“Because it started wet it is so secured onto your head like a helmet without being sticky,” she explains as she shows off her flawless bun. Consider this our new favorite hairstyle, thanks to its use of hair-nourishing products and ease of completion.
